Who are our translators?
They are all qualified professionals translating solely into their mother tongue and a limited number of specialist areas. Our profession consists of calling on the most qualified translator to deal with your request in the best timeframe.
They are initially selected in line with their qualifications (specific to translation: specialist institutes or universities), their experience and professionalism. They are then approved after a translation test. Subsequently, we perform a test order, which is proofed by one of our regular translators in the same language combination an area of expertise.
We work with two profiles of translators:
- Those who graduated from a translation institute or university (generally a master’s programme). They often master two languages in addition to their mother tongue and their primary asset is the quality of their style and accuracy of their translation.
- Those who are fluent in another language and area of expertise (usually thanks to their professional background). They are experts in their domain. Their primary asset is technical terminology.
Professional translation is above all men and women, translators and interpreters who are passionate about their work.
But also a specialist language: source language, target language, rate of reduction, translation memories, etc.
And computer tools: lexicons, glossaries, computer assisted translation tools.
However, despite increasingly advanced digital technologies, nothing can rival the complexity and sensitivity of the human brain.

We are able to translate into over 30 different languages, although around ten or so are most frequently used. Concerning our prices, these vary according to the language and are generally calculated in line with the number of words and complexity of the original document (source).

Interpreting

We handle the linguistic part of your event, by providing you with qualified interpreters and the audio material necessary to perform the assignment.
We advise you as to the type of interpreting method to select, simultaneous or consecutive, which depends on the nature of the event organised and may involve the potential use of specific audio equipment, such as booths or kits.
Insofar as possible, we try to provide you with interpreters residing in the region or country where the event is organised, so as to reduce travel and accommodation costs as much as possible, as well as our environmental impact.
Who are our interpreters?
In the same way as our translators, our interpreters are all qualified professionals capable of translating and fluently expressing themselves in two or even three languages.
In addition to their specific interpreting training, they often have a solid knowledge of the country concerned (expression, culture, customs, consumption), either through extended stays or through a multilingual family.

Who are we?
STiiL Traduction was brought about by the combination of three solid and complementary skills:
Professional translation and interpreting by the intermediary of a professional translator (ISIT graduate) who is today a freelancer, and who worked for several years with an agency.
Project management and production management, by the intermediary of one of the co-founders, having undertaken these technical skills for several years in the industrial sector.
The commercial strategy and financial management, by the intermediary of the second co-founder, having also developed these skills in the industrial sector, within several groups.

Our commitments
- All of our translations are undertaken by qualified professionals, and there is no automated translation, of course!
- All of our translators work exclusively into their mother tongue.
- We respect the strictest level of confidentiality concerning the documents you send us. This commitment is not just our word, which is why we will also sign non-disclosure agreements on your request for the most sensitive cases.
- We respond to any quote request in under 1 hour.
- We can deal with your urgent projects in under 12 hours, for any document of less than 1000 words.
- Checking and proofreading: all texts translated are automatically checked before delivery. If the document requires, we can also, on your request, undertake a cross proofreading by a second translator, to approve or modify the translated text.
- Archiving: we store our archives for 3 years and keep these for you should you need them at any time. We can also destroy these on your request.
- Relationship based on trust: from the outset, if we cannot accept your request, due to deadline, language pairs or areas of expertise, we undertake to inform you immediately, in an entirely transparent manner.
Our methodology
- We support you throughout your project, whether an urgent professional translation into a single language, or a more complex multilingual case. To guarantee an optimal level of quality, we combine several fundamental factors:
- We have chosen a team of very targeted translators, who are flexible and highly professional with whom we work on a daily basis in a spirit of partnership and trust.
- As far as possible, we always give the same translators the same type of projects for the same clients.
- We use the latest translation tools so as to optimise the quality of our services, thanks notably to SDL Trados Studio – 2017. Consequently, as translations are undertaken by our expert translator we constitute a database or Ttranslation Memory. This represents a cost saving (if there are any repetitions, these are not invoiced) and also a gage of consistent terminology for all translations.
- Do not hesitate to send us your own internal glossaries. These will be very useful for our translators, who may populate these as we work and also following any comments you have. In this way, from the first professional translation, the terminology used will be that used in your company.
